MMA News Conor Mcgregor : Dustin Poirier would rather rematch Khabib Nurmagomedov over Conor McGregor

MMA News Conor Mcgregor : Dustin Poirier is out to make history. Poirier (26-6 MMA, 18-5 UFC), who competed against the best lightweights in the game, has very few defects on his record.

After making his Pro MMA debut in 2009, the former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion suffered only six defeats in 33 bouts.

Two of his recent losses have come in the hands of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former UFC dual-champion Connor McGregor.

Although the loss to McGregor (22–4 MMA, 10–2 UFC) in 2014 was a turning point for Poir, who rose to 155 pounds and achieved much success, the McGregor rematch was not like he once had in his mind.

Mma news conor mcgregor – If he were to choose between the two, Pierre’s recent loss to Nurmagomedov (28-0 MMA, 12-0 UFC) last September is at UFC 242 because he wants to run back – not because Nurmagomedov is the champion, but simply because of him. No one had an answer, and he would love to be the one to solve the puzzle.

“If the belts were not on the line only for his legacy, I would love to beat Khabib,” Poirier told . “Nobody ever beat him.” Nobody climbed that mountain. I would love to be the first one. It is historical. It is legendary. The stuff I want to do. I am not out for rematch and crude match and revenge. I’m a big man, I don’t keep that stuff in my heart. I have a family and this is a business for me.

“When I was younger, I probably wanted to fight Conor or fight anyone who beat me. But I am comfortable with everything. I’m comfortable with my records, with the stuff I’ve done, the fights I’ve done. In the quarrels I lost, I learned my lessons and tried to keep going. So I really want to be the first person to defeat Khabib.

After losing to Nurmagomedov, Poirier won again in one of the best fights of the year with a unanimous win over Dan Hooker over the UFC in UPCP 12 and put himself back in the lightly titled picture (Mma news conor mcgregor).
