Two matches were played at UEFA Euro 2020 on Tuesday night. In Group D, Croatia defeated Scotland and England defeated the Czech Republic. Both the teams were successful in reaching the last-16 with victories. Scotland’s team is out of the knockout round. England beat Czech Republic 1-0. At the same time, Croatia defeated Scotland 3-1 in a thrilling match.

England has managed to top the group round of this tournament for the third time. Prior to this, he was in first place in 1996 and 2012. England have scored just two goals this time. They became the first-place team with the fewest goals. This was England manager Gareth Southgate’s 57th match as coach. He broke Roy Hodson’s record in this matter. Southgate is the first person to play more than 50 matches for England and coach 50 more matches.

Southgate said, “We always believed that the burden of scoring goals should be reduced from Harry Kane.” Kane could not score against Croatia and Scotland. Here he made the first shot on the goal. England now have to play Group F runners-up a week later, which could be either France, Portugal, Germany or Hungary.

On the other hand, a brilliant goal from captain Luka Modric, playing their last Euro Football Championship, helped Croatia beat Scotland 3-1 to reach the last 16. Thirty-five-year-old Modric scored in the 62nd minute. With the win, Croatia finished second in Group D and will face the runners-up of Group E in Copenhagen on Monday.
